Battalion Chief IDs couple who died in Kansas house fire

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Authorities investigating the cause of a deadly fire in Wichita have released the names of victims.

 Edward and Susan Perry, both 61-years-old died in fire, according to  Batallion Chief Jose Ocadiz.

Just before 10p.m. Monday crews responded to a house fire in the 9:40 p.m. to the 9700 block of Savannah Street in Wichita, near Pawnee Prairie Park , according to a social media report from the Wichita Fire Deparment.  

Due to the advanced fire conditions on the initial house, fire extended to the house next to it.  A 2-alarm fire was requested, sending in more apparatus and crews to assist. The Perrys were pulled from one of the houses and transported to St. Francis in critical condition and they later died.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Ocadiz.
