Kansas deputy found methamphetamine in man's car

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 4p.m. February 6, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus for a traffic infraction on Q. Road just south of 150th Road in rural Jackson County, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During the course of the traffic stop, a Jackson County Sheriff K-9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal drug contraband within the vehicle.

The driver, Earl Harrison Ireland III, 41, of Topeka was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
