KCPD investigating two homicides on Sunday

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating two homicides on Sunday in Kansas City.

Just after 4:30p.m. Sunday KCPD patrol officers were dispatched to Truman Road and Interstate 435 on an ambulance in route call, according to Sergeant Phil DiMartino.

An individual was reported to be slumped over in a vehicle on the southbound exit ramp of I-435 at Truman. Officers located a man  inside of a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Early Sunday, police were dispatched to Research Hospital on a walk-in shooting, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte. A private vehicle brought an adult male shooting victim to the hospital. He later succumbed to injuries. Shooting occurred near 63rd and Manchester, according to Forte. Police released no additional details on the shootings.
