Kan. man hospitalized, woman treated at scene after stabbing

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a stabbing 

Just after 3:30a.m. Sunday,  deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of SW 72nd Place in Shawnee County on a report of a stabbing, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.

While responding to the residence, deputies located a vehicle in the 5300 block of S. Topeka boulevard with occupants who had suffered injuries from the stabbing incident.  

Deputies administered first aid to a 34-year-old man until AMR could arrive on scene.  AMR arrived and transported the man to a local hospital.   A 33-year-old woman was also treated on scene for minor injuries associated with the stabbing.  

The stabbing was a result of an altercation at a residence on SW 72nd Place, according to Stallbaumer.  All of the individuals involved in the incident have been identified. 

Deputies have not reported an arrest.
