
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating fatal shooting in Topeka have made an arrest.
Just before 8p.m. June 3, police responded to reports of gunshots in the 700 block of SW Western in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.

First responders located a victim, later identified 29-year-old Ian A. Mwaniki of Topeka with life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel on scene later pronounced him deceased.
As a result of the investigation police on Thursday arrested 19-year-old Pearson Carter III of Topeka, on requested charges of Murder in the 2nd degree, intentional, Aggravated battery, Criminal carry of a weapon and Unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits
