KANSAS CITY—One person was injured in a Kansas City area house fire on Monday.
Just after 12:30a.m., crews were dispatched to a house fire on N. Cottage Avenue in Independence, according to a social media report.
First arriving companies reported moderate smoke showing from the back of the home and went on an aggressive interior fire attack. During the primary search, firefighters found a woman and removed her from the residence.
She was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The fire was extinguished, and the origin and cause are under investigation by IFD and the Missouri Fire Marshals Office.
