ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man for alleged child sex crimes.
Police conducted an investigation in December 2014 that related to a child victim under he age of 14. During that investigation, 40-year-old Austin Kau was taken into custody in Buchanan County Missouri on an unrelated Missouri case.
Since that time he had remained in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections until being released this week to the custody of the Atchison County Jail, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Kau is being held on an Atchison County District Court warrant charging him with aggravated criminal sodomy that was filed in February 2015.
