Police work to ID suspect in Kan. loan store armed robbery

COWLEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an armed robbery and have released security camera images of the suspect.

On Monday, police were dispatched to Check Into Cash in the 100 block of west 13th Avenue in Winfield for a report of an armed robbery, according to a media release.

Officers responded and information was developed that a man entered the store, displayed a weapon, demanded money from the employees and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses in the area reported the suspect left the scene in a silver Sport Utility Vehicle and was last seen northbound on Manning Street.

During the investigation officers located clothing along side Country Club Road in Winfield that are believed to have been worn by the suspect during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately six feet tall wearing blue University of Kansas sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a hat, glasses, and a surgical type mask.
