ELLIS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 4a.m. Sunday in Ellis County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Ford F250 driven by Collins, Cort William Collins, 20, Winona, was eastbound in the 2400 Block of Old Highway 40. The pickup traveled off the road to the right and then re-entered the road at Spring Hill. The pickup crossed over to the north ditch and rolled.
EMS transported Collins and a passenger Hunter Lee Still, 20, Sharon Springs, to Hays Medical Center where Still was pronounced deceased. They were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
