SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in his wife's death made his first court appearance Tuesday.
Shawn Nimmo, 47, Wichita was charged with second-degree murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
On Jan. 21, police responded to a medical welfare check at a residence in the 300 Block of South Dodge in Wichita, according to Police Captain Jason Stevens.
At the scene, officers found a victim identified as 43-year-old Rebecca Nimmo with stab wounds and unresponsive . She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Stevens.
Also at the scene was her 47-year-old husband Shawn Nimmo who had called police. Investigators determined probable cause existed to arrest him for her murder, according to Stevens.
Nimmo remains jailed on a $150,000 bond and is due back in court February 11, according to the district attorney.
