RENO COUNTY —The cause a house fire in rural Reno County is under investigation.
On Saturday evening, the Hutchinson Fire Department responded to report of a fire in the 400 block of East 7th, according to a media release.
First arriving crews found black smoke coming from the eaves of a 2 and one half story ballon frame home. First arriving crew entered the structure for search as dispatch advised that the occupant was still inside trying to retrieve pets. Additional crews arrived and began aggressive interior attack on the fire. Fire was found on the first floor, second floor, and attic. There was a partial floor collapse of a second-floor bedroom. No injuries were reported. Authorities did not release a damage estimate.
