JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon after a chase and crash
Just after 9p.m. Sept.6, a Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2016 red Dodge Dart north of 198th and K-16 Highway for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Casey Cane Jordan Crawford, 30, Holton, allegedly failed to stop and fled eluding law enforcement.
Deputies lost sight of the vehicle near 158th and T. Road due to dusty conditions. On Thursday morning, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy located the wrecked Dodge Dart near 190th and the Jefferson County line.
Deputies later located Crawford walking on Banner Road in Holton late Thursday evening. They arrested and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement, interference with law enforcement and driving while suspended.
Crawford has previous convictions for ID theft, battery, aggravated assault, flee or attempt to elude law enforcement and interference with law enforcement, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
