KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City.
Just after midnight early Saturday, police were dispatched to North Kansas City Hospital on a reported shooting, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
A male shooting victim, later identified as 20-year-old Isiah Washington, was brought to the hospital by private vehicle.
Hospital staff advised the responding officers that the Washington died of his injuries shortly after arriving. Preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred in the 7400 Block of North Lewis in Kansas City.
There was an altercation between two individuals that resulted in the Washington being shot. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led to the interaction. Investigators and crime scene personnel canvassed the 7400 block of North Lewis for witnesses and any available physical evidence. Police released no additional details.
