2 adults, teen injured in drive-by shooting at Kansas home

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a drive-by shooting that sent three people to the hospital.

Just after 2a.m. Wednesday, police officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting in the 1600 block of north Grove in Wichita, according to police spokesman Andrew Ford. First responders located three individuals inside a home with injuries.

A 43-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries to her lower body. A 19-year-old man was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries to the lower body. A 17-year-old girl was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officers and crime scene investigators located a large number of cartridge casings and the residence was struck numerous times. The shooters were believed to be outside the residence at the time of the shooting.

Investigators are diligently reviewing all of the evidence in this case to identify and apprehend the offenders. Late Wednesday,  police had not released possible suspect details or reported an arrest.
