Minor storm damage reported and much needed rain in NW Kansas

SHERIDAN COUNTY —Despite several tornado warnings, the storms on Wednesday evening in northwest Kansas only produced minor damage, heavy rain and some hail.  

The sheriff's department in Sheridan County reported 2 miles east of Selden where a tornado was observed by trained storm spotters there were two outer buildings  hit and the winds removed the roof off of one and windows from farm machinery and vehicles were broken out.

At least three irrigation sprinklers were overturned and several road signs were broke off and destroyed. There were no injuries reported. 

 A Flood Watch has been issued for many areas of northwest Kansas for Thursday, May 11. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, according to the weather service.
