CASS COUNTY, Neb. —The Nebraska State Patrol announced that a Nebraska State Trooper died in the line of duty on Monday.
A motor vehicle crash occurred while the trooper and others were responding to another crash on Interstate 80 between Ashland and Greenwood, according to a statement from the patrol.
The Patrol asked the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office to conduct the crash investigation. The name of the trooper has not been released or additional details of the incident.
As winter weather conditions continue across the state, the Nebraska Patrol urged all motorists to be safe if they must travel.
