Police investigating suspicious incident at Kan. school parking lot

BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspicious incident at a high school in Barton County.

On Wednesday, the Hoisington Police Department received a report regarding a suspicious individual in the Hoisington High School parking lot, 218 East 7th Street in Hoisington, according to a media release.

A man driving a silver GMC pickup approached two female students and asked if they were interested in joining a sports program in Texas. The individual left the area without incident.

Law enforcement has had prior contact with this individual, but there is no immediate threat to the public. The situation is being actively monitored, and police are conducting an investigation into the matter.
