Kansas man jailed for alleged stabbing

SHAWNEE COUNTY –Law enforcement authorities are investigating an aggravated battery and have a suspect in custody.

Just after 9a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 2000 block of Eco Ridge in Topeka on a report of a possible stabbing, according to LT Kelvin Johnson.

Once on scene, officers located one victim with non-life threatening stab wounds. The suspect later identified as Karrington Drake, 33, Topeka, who was still on scene, was taken into custody and brought to the Law Enforcement Center for interviews.

At the conclusion of the investigation, police booked Drake into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on a requested charge of Aggravated Battery, according Johnson.

Police did not release an update on the condition of the victim late Sunday.
