
SEDGWICK COUNTY — A man arrested in connection with a fentanyl overdose of a toddler is scheduled to return to court Friday.
Phillip L. Saunders, who was 38 at the time of the crime is scheduled an arraignment hearing in the courtroom of Judge Seth Rundle, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. He could be asked to enter a. plea in the case.
In October of 2023, police responded to a home in the 6100 block of East Boston Street in Wichita where a baby was suffering from a fentanyl exposure.
First responders used Narcan and the child was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
After an investigation, police arrested Saunders on requested charge of aggravated child endangerment, two drug charges and an outstanding warrants for contempt of court.
