KHP IDs Kan. man who died when car struck bridge impact attenuator

GEARY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 10:30p.m. Sunday in Geary County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by  Derrick A Holler, 23, Manhattan, was  northbound on Kansas 177 just south of the Interstate 70 eastbound exit ramp driving on the paved median strip.

The car struck three traffic control signs before colliding with a bridge impact attenuator. He was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Hospital/Mortuary: Johnson and Mass-Hinitt.  He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
