Police: Autopsy shows Kan. man's death a homicide

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating what is now determined as a homicide from last summer and have identified the victim.

Just after 10:30a.m. August 13, police responded to a Topeka hospital after in individual arrived with life-threatening injuries, according to department spokesperson Rosie Nichols.

It was also reported that medical personnel had responded to a medical call in the 1200 Block of NW Central in Topeka. A man was transported for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The individual identified as 43-year-old Ocelopanhuetzi Texotic Martinez, 43, of Topeka died September 1.  After an autopsy, Topeka Police investigators determined the incident to be a homicide. Police have not reported an arrest in the case.
