SHAWNEE COUNTY, Kan.—Law enforcement are investigating alleged sex crimes and have a suspect in custody.
On Jan. 23, following an investigation into a possible child sex crimes, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division served a search warrant in the 4400 block of SW 61st Street in response to a report that had been filed regarding sexual crimes against a minor, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Joseph G. Pittman, 41, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges Sexual exploitation of a child; possess media of a child, Sexual exploitation of a child; promote performance, Aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, Aggravated indecent liberties with a child, Intimidation of a witness or victim, Aggravated criminal sodomy and Rape.
