SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Wichita Police Department continues their investigation of a fatal shooting that took place just before 2a.m. Sunday at a bar located in the 2700 block of N. Broadway in Wichita, according to Police Spokesman Andrew Ford.
Officers arrived shortly after receiving reports of gunfire and found 34-year-old Zachary Miller of Wichita suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso and lower body.
Sedgwick County EMS administered life-saving measures at the scene; however, Miller succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m, according to Ford.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a disturbance broke out on the bar's patio, during which the suspect fired several shots at the victim, causing patrons to flee the establishment.
Investigators have identified the shooter, who was taken into custody, interviewed, and released pending the presentment of facts to the District Attorney’s Office, according to Ford.
