
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY —Due to a high number of student and staff illnesses across the district, USD 286 Sedan canceled classes for Wednesday, February 18, according to a statement from the school district social media page.
"This decision was made out of an abundance of caution to allow students and staff time to recover and to help prevent further spread of illness. During this time, our custodial team will complete a deep cleaning and sanitization of all district buildings."
All school activities and practices scheduled for this date are also canceled and The Chautauqua County Spelling Bee scheduled for Wednesday will not take place due to illness.
On February 4, Centre School District USD 397 announced they would not have class the rest of the week due to illness.
On Feb. 2, USD 511 Attica reported there would be no school or other activities for two days due to sickness. On January 14, Fairfield USD 310 canceled classes and participation in activities due to illness.
