
SEDGWICK COUNTY. — Police are investigating another homicide in Wichita and have identified the victim as 49-year-old Ruben Parga-Quintanar of Dodge City.
Just before 9a.m. Friday, officers and Wichita Fire Department crews responded to a report of a man down near the entrance to an alley in the 2400 block of North Jeanette, according to a media release.
When fire personnel arrived, they found Parga-Quintanar with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:53 a.m., according to police.
Officers secured the area, and homicide detectives were called in to investigate. Initial findings suggest the victim was shot somewhere else and collapsed after fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
