KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Authorities are investigating the cause of a townhome fire in Kansas City.

Just after 8p.m. Sunday, crews responded to a reported fire in the 1700 block of Woodland, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

First responders reported heavy fire from a two-story 4-plex townhome. After inital interior operations crews were forced to evacuate when the roof became unstable. Searches of the adjoining structures came back all clear. The fire was placed under control at 8:26 p.m. No injuries were reported.
