RENO COUNTY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at a rural home in Reno County.

Just before 1:30a.m. Wednesday, crews responded to a fire at a home in the 1600 Block of North Wilson Road, according to a media release from Jeremy Unruh Division Chief of Operations.

First arriving crews found the single story home with heavy fire. The detached garage and a 28-foot camper were also burning.  Crews started a defensive attack as rural water supply operations were initiated with the assistance of mutual aid water tenders.

Crews were eventually able to knock down a majority of the fire and enter the home. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire. The garage and camper are a total loss. The fire damage approximately 70 percent of the home.  Wind  was a significant factor with the behavior of the fire. There were no injuries reported.
