MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Monday in Montgomery County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Dodge Charger driven by Michael N. Swanzy, 37, Independence, Kansas, was northbound in the 1800 County Road 3900. The car traveled left of center side-swiping a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by Brandon S. Macrae, 38, Wann, Oklahoma. The Dodge continued left of center and struck a 2019 Diamond Coach General Transportation bus driven by Timothy W. Housel, 67, S. Coffeville, head-on.
Swanzy and Housel were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory. Macrae was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
