Road rage: Kansas man accused of shooting at vehicle

MONTGOMERY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect in connection with a possible road rage incident.

Just before 8pm on May 11, Montgomery County Dispatch received a call regarding a shooting and a vehicle chasing another vehicle near Coffeyville, Kansas, according to Sheriff Ron Wade.

Responding, law enforcement agencies worked together to ensure public safety and bring the situation to a resolution.The incident, which transpired on U.S 166 and County Road 3500 outside Coffeyville, Kansas, prompted immediate action from dispatch and deputies, who relayed crucial information including a detailed description of the suspect vehicle reportedly heading towards Caney, Kansas.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene and made contact with the reporting individual identified as Christopher Flack of Skiatook, Oklahoma. Flack told deputies he was pursued by a black Dodge Challenger from Caney, Kansas.

Despite shots being fired at Flack's vehicle, fortunately, there were no injuries, according to Sheriff Wade.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle at the residence of 54-year-old Shawn Timmerman in Caney, Kansas. During the investigation, Timmerman was subsequently apprehended without further incident.  Timmerman remains jailed on requested charge of attempted murder in the second degree.
