Salina's Thompson re-elected to BCBS of Kansas board

TOPEKA — A Salina man is among those re-elected to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors.

Jeffrey R. Thompson, Salina; Carolyn R. Banning, Dodge City; Jena K. Lysen, Wichita; and Matthew D. All, Topeka, each were re-elected to a second four-year term on the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors during the board's annual meeting Thursday.

Banning is a certified public accountant retired from Smoll & Banning, CPA's, LLC. Lysen is director of human resources for Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace & Bauer, LLP. Thompson is chief financial officer of Salina Vortex Corporation. All is president/CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

In addition to the election of the board members, Leonard R. Hernandez, El Dorado, was elected to a one-year term as chair of the board of directors and Rick C. Jackson, Topeka, was elected to a one-year term as vice chair.

Hernandez, president/CEO of Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, joined the Blue Cross board in 2012. Jackson, executive vice president and chief lending officer of Capitol Federal Savings, has served on the board since 2015.

Other members of the board are Rick D. Baden – Pittsburg; Gregory V. Binns – Hutchinson; Jennifer L. Brull, M.D. – Plainville; Amanda D. Huelskamp – Andover; Megan L. Jones - Topeka; James A. Klausman – Topeka; Jeff D. Mullen – Wichita; Cathy Mih Taylor, M.D.  – Chanute; Angela N. Wilson, DDS – Lawrence; and Kenneth W. Winter – Dodge City.
