BUTLER COUNTY—The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and El Dorado Police continue their investigation of a shooting that critically injured a woman in El Dorado.
On Thursday, the victim was identified as 38-year-old Nateka Jones of El Dorado, according to Police Chief Mike Holton.
Just after 1a.m. Wednesday, police responded to report of a shooting at a home in the 600 block of west Olive Street in El Dorado, according to Police Chief Mike Holton.
First responders found Jones who had been shot at the home. Butler County EMS transported her to a Wichita hospital.
She remained in critical, but stable condition Thursday afternoon, according to Holton. Police have interviewed a person of interest in this case and hope to obtain a statement from the victim as soon as she is able to talk with investigators.
