Boy remains on life-support after near drowning at Kan. hotel pool

SEDGWICK COUNTY—A 7-year-old boy remains on life-support after an incident at a hotel pool in Wichita, according to an online fundraiser established to help the family.

Just after 9:30p.m. May 1, police were dispatched to a hotel in the 7300 block of E. Kellogg in Wichita, in response to a reported drowning, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.

Sedgwick County EMS and the Wichita Fire Department arrived and began life-saving measures on the boy.

EMS  transported him to a local hospital in critical condition. Preliminary investigation indicates the child was playing in the pool when he went underwater and became unresponsive. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
