Suspect wanted for shooting police chief could be in Kansas

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating a violent crime in Texas have issued an alert for a suspect.

Last week, the Police Chief of Memphis Texas was shot by Seth Michael Altman, according to a Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers alert.

Altmas is wanted for Attempted Capitol Murder in the State of Texas.

Governor Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward through Texas Crime Stoppers, for information leading to the arrest and capture of Altman. There were indications he may be in the Wichita Metro Area.  He is described as 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5 and weighs aproximately 220 pounds.

He wears glasses that is possibly missing one of the lenses.
