KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just before 2a.m. Sunday in Kansas City, MIssouri.
According to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina, a blue Kia Forte was eastbound on Interstate 70 near the Prospect Avenue. The car traveled off the roadway and entered the grassy area. The vehicle struck a construction sign, a light pole, and trees. The driver was transported to an area hospital, where medical staff pronounced the driver deceased.
This marks fatality #47 in Kansas City, Missouri for 2026. There were also #47 at the same time last year, according to Becchina.
