KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 39-year-old Anthony Alexander, according to KCPD Sergeant Jake Becchina.

Just before 10:30p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Kensington, according to Becchina. 911 received a call to the location asking for help.

First responders contacted people in the area that heard the sound of a disturbance followed by what they thought was possible gunfire. Officers checked the area and located Alexander unresponsive on the ground next to a residence.

Officers rendered aid and called for EMS. EMS took over treatment and declared Alexander deceased at the scene, according to Becchina.

Preliminary investigation indicates Alexander appears to have been shot. Investigation further appears he had an interaction at the location with unknown suspect(s) that led to gunfire that killed Alexander
