Kansas City, MO—Two people were injured after a hazardous materials incident at a home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, a Kansas City Fire Department hazardous materials response was dispatched to the 100 block of West 13th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
On arrival, crews were met by a responsible party who said the wrong chemical combination was mixed for a cold plunge tub.
The building was evacuated and crews investigated, ventilated, and monitored the air quality throughout the structure. Hazmat crews are diluting the chemicals, and the air quality is normal.
Two people were checked out on scene by EMS personnel and transported by KCFD ambulances to local hospitals for evaluation. Authorities released no additional details.
