SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a man's murder and have a suspect in custody.
On Monday, the Topeka Police Department received information of a deceased person in the area of SW 3rd St. and SW Harrison Street, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.
Topeka Police detectives acted on the information and located a man dead in the 200 block of SW Harrison Street. At the time, police investigated this as a suspicious death.
Early Tuesday, police reported the arrest of 26-year-old Serena Sanchez of Topeka and transported her to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. She is being held on requested charges of Murder in the 2nd degree; Intentional, according to Monasmith.
Police have not released victim's name or how he died.
