
KINGMAN COUNTY— An accidental electricl malfunction is blamed for a house fire in rural Kingman County.
Just before 5p.m. Sunday, fire crews were dispatched to East Avenue H in Kingman
The first arriving crew observed smoke coming from the home. Citizens on scene reported the fire was located in the basement. Fire crews established Command and Engine 11 established a water supply and deployed handlines to the front door. Engine 11 then initiated an aggressive interior attack and located the fire in the ceiling of a basement bedroom. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the room where it started and brought the fire under control. There were no occupants inside thehome.
Due to the extreme heat conditions and the need for additional manpower, mutual aid was requested from Reno County FIre District 1. Firefighters from Pretty Prairie responded to the scene and assisted with rotating interior crews. There were no injuries reported.
The American Red Cross was notified to assist the homeowner with immediate needs.
