
WYANDOTTE COUNTY —A Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot and killed in the line of duty on Saturday, according to a statement from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.
On Saturday afternoon, the deputy was shot while responding to a civil standby at a home near S 30th and Shawnee Drive, according to Kansas City, Kansas. Police Chief Karl Oakman.
The deputy was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and died. The suspect was taken into custody after a standoff.
