Kan. man stabbed in deadly altercation due back in court

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in an altercation that left 30-year-old Marco Gonzales-Arias dead is due to return to court Thursday afternoon for a preliminary hearing, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.

Armando Martinez, 22,  is charged with second-degree murder.

Just after midnight October 12, police responded to the Emery Gardens apartment complex in the the 4200 block of S. Hydraulic in Wichita.

First responders found  Gonzales-Arias suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital and he was pronounced deceased. 

Martinez suffered stab wound and fled the scene. Police located him, took him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Just after 7p.m. October 12, he was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.
