Robert C. Perkins, 92, of Lindsborg, Kansas, and formerly of McPherson, passed away at 8:10 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 while in the company of his loving wife, at Bethany Home.

Bob was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 20, 1928, a son of Susie Marie (Rogers) and Charlie Francis Perkins.

Bob attended Lincoln Grade School, McPherson Junior High school and graduated from McPherson High School in 1946. He later attended McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas and the FBI Academy, Washington D.C.

He attended First Christian Church, McPherson.

He served in the National Guard of Kansas as a Pvt. First Class. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He received the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Metal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, SO Hq 6580th ABGRU.

Robert Clayton "Bob" Perkins was united in marriage to Sandra Grace Hale on January 7, 1956 at the First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter, Steven, Randall, and Beth.

Through the years, Bob worked in housing construction, and worked for the McPherson City Police Department for 35 years with 22 of those years as police chief.

Bob was a member of the McPherson Shrine Club, Isis Temple of Salina, Kansas, Free Masonry; Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, life member of the American Legion Post 24, Kansas Peace Officers Association, Boy Scouts, Amateur Radio Club, Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club, life member of the Kansas Assn. of Chiefs of Police.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 65 years, Sandra G. Perkins, of Lindsborg, Kansas; his children, Steven R. Perkins and wife Marilyn, of McPherson, Kansas, Randall C. Perkins and wife Shari, of McPherson, Kansas, and Beth M. Hopp and husband Robert, of Abilene, Kansas; his six grandchildren, Tracy Morgan (Danny), Daniel Perkins, Justin Perkins (Cheryl), Brenton Perkins (Stephanie), Adam Hopp, and Owen Hopp (Melissa); his eight great-grandchildren, Austin Morgan (Lorrin), Alex Perkins (Kendall), Emilee Perkins, Skyler Perkins, Natalee Perkins, Cora Perkins, George Perkins, and Brenna Perkins; his three great-greatgrandchildren, Brynlee Morgan, Lyla Morgan, and Ava Perkins; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Susie and Charlie Perkins; two brothers, Dempsey Duncon and Don Edward Perkins; and two sisters, Priscilla Dean Boblet and Rosella Lee Tipton.

Visitation will beheld on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson.

The memorial service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 with Pastor Robert H. Park officiating.

Final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas with military honors presented by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 and the American Legion Post 24, both of McPherson, and Taps played by Mark Casebeer.
