KANSAS CITY—Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire in an apartment building in Kansas City.
Just before 6a.m., crews, responded to a reported apartment fire in the 1000 block of E. 9th Street, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
First responders found smoke and fire showing from the second floor of a two-story apartment building. The initial calls for trapped occupants were unfounded, according to Hopkins.
Searches, both primary and secondary came back all clear. No injuries were reported. Fire officials orders a warming bus from ATA has been ordered for a warming location and the Red Cross will assist approximately 16 residents.
