Police ID victims in Junction City double homicide

GEARY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a double homicide in Junction City have identified the victims as Blake McCoy, 26, Junction City and Jeremy John Brown, 42, a resident of Pottawatomie County, according to Junction City Police.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Junction City Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of West Vine Street for a man with an suspected gunshot wound, according to a media release. Upon arrival, officers located McCoy and Brown with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that their preliminary investigation suggests that these men  knew each other and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
