SEDGWICK COUNTY—Authorities are investigating the work place death of a man in Wichita.
At approximately 12:10 p.m. on Monday, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies, Sedgwick County EMS and firefighters from Sedgwick County Fire District 1 and the Wichita Fire Department responded to Textron Aviation’s east campus in the 9700 block of East Central for a report of an employee not breathing, according to a media release.
Fire and EMS personnel found a 61-year-old man in a facility paint booth, wearing a ventilator mask and not breathing. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced dead at 12:28 p.m.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, with assistance from Sedgwick County Fire District 1 and the Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
