SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas man with a history of crime is facing child sex crime charges. On Jan. 27, Lorenzo Gary, 37 of Wichita, was charged with 2 counts of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, contributing to a child’s misconduct or deprivation, and incest, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, a 36-year-old woman reported to police that a 13-year-old was at a motel in the 2300 block of S. Broadway in Wichita with a man identified as Gary, according to Officer Trevor Macy.
The woman said that she believed the two were having unlawful sexual relations. Officers responded to the motel and located Gary and the juvenile who were both transported to the Exploited and Missing Child Unit (EMCU) for interviews.
Police booked Gary into the Sedgwick County Jail. Gary has previous convictions that include forgery and robbery, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections. His next court date is Feb. 6, according to the district attorney's office. He remains jailed on a $300,000 bond.
