JOHNSON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident Thursday in the city of Shawnee, Kansas.
Just before 10:30a.m. Thursday, the Shawnee Police Department, Shawnee Fire Department, Lenexa Fire Department, and Johnson County MED-ACT responded to a water rescue in the 6000 block of Woodland Drive.
A skid-steer operator entered a pond and became submerged. Firefighters rescued the man from the water and immediately initiated lifesaving measures. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
