BOURBON COUNTY—A firefighter avoided serious injury in a crash just after 3p.m. Monday in Bourbon County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Freightliner fire truck driven by 20-year-old Matthew B. Troyer, Pittsburg, was southbound on Kansas 3 at Hickory Road responding to a fire call.
The passenger side tires dropped off the edge of the road. The driver overcorrected to the left and back to the right. The firetruck overturned in the northbound ditch and came to rest on its side.
EMS transported Troyer to Via Christi. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP. Check the Post for additional details as they become available.
