Kan. deputy observes drug paraphernalia during traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations after a traffic stop.

Just after 8:30 a.m. Monday, a sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle near 126th and U.S. Highway 75 for a traffic violation, according to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse.

 The driver was identified as Jose Arturo Conejo, 50, of Kansas City, Kansas.

During the stop, a deputy observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputies discovered more drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail and booked into the Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
