
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple charges after an encounter this week.
On July 3, police were dispatched to the 1300 Block. of SW Western Ave. in Topeka on the reports of a disturbance, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
Officers located 27-year-old Collin Ray Butter involved in the disturbance, and identified him as a person of interest in an Auto theft that was reported on June 14.
Officers transported Butter to the Law Enforcement Center to speak with Detectives.
After further investigation by Detectives, Butter was also identified to be involved in multiple Auto Thefts and Burglaries throughout the month of June.
As a result of these investigation, Butter was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and remains jailed on requested charges of Auto Theft x 6, Burglary to vehicle x 7, Flee or Attempt to elude while operating a stolen vehicle, Reckless driving and Forgery.
