ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect after a late night altercation in Atchison.
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday night officers responded to an apartment complex in the 200 block North 3rd Street in Atchison to investigate a disturbance and a fire alarm going off, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
It was determined that there was no fire and a fire alarm had falsely been activated by 57-year-old Anthony Edwardson, a resident of the of the apartment complex.
It was also determined that Edwardson had sprayed a 48-year-old resident of the complex in the face with a fire extinguisher. Police took Edwardson into custody on requested charges of transmitting false information to request emergency services and battery.
